Think you know about Change Management?
We’re looking for bright, enthusiastic and ambitious graduates to join our Business Change and IT team. As one of our graduate trainees, you can expect to be working in a role of considerable responsibility very quickly – perhaps heading up a workstream in one of our large business transformation programmes, developing your analytical skills to deliver key insight to inform critical business decisions and working with major strategic suppliers to get the job done.
Change is absolutely at the heart of Financial Services – our customer experience and our success in the market place are driven by the projects which you’ll deliver. Zurich is investing very strongly in change programmes, to drive competitive edge and deliver our goal to be one of the top three insurers in our chosen markets.
We’ll help you build a strong portfolio of IT, Change Management and leadership skills, to enable you to drive your career in a fast-moving, competitive and business-focused environment. We’ll give you the support you need to help us shape and drive our use of technology to transform our business. In return, we’ll expect you to make an impact right from the start.
What skills will I need?
As the nuts and bolts of IT are outsourced to a number of strategic partners, these are not technical roles. So, while an interest in technology may be beneficial, we certainly do not give preference to those with an IT related degree. What you will need are fantastic communication, organisational and influencing skills, together with real enthusiasm and drive. In addition, a good analytical mind with the ability to grasp complex concepts in a business environment is a must.
What will I be doing?
We’ll give you exposure to a number of different roles to help you understand the ways change is managed in our business, and to build your portfolio of technical, business and leadership skills. You can expect experience in both Business Analysis and Project Management and enjoy support to build the career you want to follow with Zurich.
Business analysis- you'll work with senior people in the business to carry out requirements and impact analysis, and provide insight into the ways we can best deliver business solutions.
Project management- you’ll be responsible for driving business change and IT projects of varying scope and size, from initiation to delivery. You might be heading up a critical workstream for one of our major strategic programmes, or have total ownership of a smaller project.
What can I look forward to?
It's entirely up to you – once they completed the scheme and established their credentials graduates who are just a couple of years into their careers now manage projects with a £1m budget, and some have had the opportunity to work on global projects. You could grow into a Programme Manager, with responsibility for major strategic change programmes, or become a senior Business Analyst or Architect with responsibility for shaping our use of technology for the future. There are no limits to what you could achieve with the right capability and motivation.
And as we form part of Zurich's Global Life business unit there are an increasing number of opportunities to work on projects with a global focus, once you have established yourself.
Where will I be based?
You'll be working in Swindon, if your application is successful. We’ll advise you on the best places to live and help you find somewhere if you need to relocate.
