The supply chain function at Thorntons offers includes a wide range of disciplines and opportunities, all of which are represented on-site.
The graduate programme has been designed to ensure that you make a valued contribution to Thorntons from the first day you join the business by placing you in a real job where you will be set SMART objectives that you will need to deliver to support the business growth strategy.
Working for Thorntons provides a breadth of career opportunities across the range of the business, including, Thorntons Direct, Marketing, Supply Chain (including Purchasing, Manufacturing and Logistics), Retail, Commercial (sales), Finance and HR.
We are always looking to recruit outstanding graduates. The graduate programme will support your career development across a 27 month period, and within that time you will undertake 3 placements to give you experience across the business through a combination of functional specialism and cross functional exposure; so for example you may do an initial placement in our manufacturing function, a second placement in another function such as Marketing, Finance, Commercial, Thorntons Direct or HR and a final placement in Supply Chain.
After the initial 27 months, you, together with the company will agree which function you will continue to progress in. You are a future manager of Thorntons and having proved your drive and ability during the programme you can expect to be promoted to management.
Salary & Benefits
£24,000 starting salary, Up to £1,500 relocation assistance. 25 days holiday. Discounted Thorntons chocolate. Subsidised employee restaurant.
Training & Development
As a Thorntons Supply Chain Graduate you will undertake a 27 month development programme aligned to the company values of Togetherness, Imagination and Excellence. All Thorntons Graduates are eligible to participate in a series of core management training courses available exclusively to the Thorntons management population that will give you all the tools and techniques you need for your future career in management at Thorntons.
Placement specific training will also be provided within each of the 3 rotations for the more specialist aspects of your role, for example purchasing contract law, negotiation skills, lean manufacturing, and health and safety.
You will also have a mentor to support and guide you throughout the entire graduate programme.
