AMERICAN EXPRESS TECHNOLOGIES
We need a strong technology team to own, manage, maintain and Innovate our systems, products and platforms. With approx 3500 Employees worldwide, American Express Technologies (AET) is responsible for the global technology environment that supports all aspects of the American Express business. Technology teams work directly with business units to deliver capabilities that yield increased share of customer spending, revenue and net income. The organisation also manages the underlying technology infrastructure, architecture, systems, processes, governance and security that enable the business capabilities.
A UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY
We offer a 2 year programme enabling blue chip commercial experience. You will work 30 hours per week undertaking hands-on project work in a variety of roles. You will also be provided with skills training and in depth on-the-job coaching and development. You will also receive dedicated support from leaders, alumni graduates and peers. Top performers have the opportunity to join American Express when they complete the programme — 70+% of graduates are typically successful in securing a permanent role.
STUDY
As part of the programme you will also be studying a 2 year part time MSc course at Sussex University. The MSc courses available to you are:
- IT with Business & Management
- Intelligent Systems
- Human Computer Interaction
- Technology and Innovation Management
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
Here are the skills and experiences we’re looking for. Do these describe you?
- Undergraduate Degree with a predicted or achieved 2:1 or International equivalent.
- Proven ability to work as part of a team
- Have a positive, enthusiastic attitude with a desire to succeed
- Be able to challenge the status quo and provide alternative solutions
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively at all levels
- Intellectual curiosity and strong willingness to learn
- Ability to look at existing IT structures and methodologies and collaborate to create new innovative solutions
- For Graduate applications, any work experience in a role with an IT or commercial aspect is an advantage. While applications from all students are welcome, some exposure to IT or a demonstrable interest in that area is required. Business sense and the ability to work in IT are essential requirements, demonstrated by previous experience and areas of interest and study.
