Audit Accelerate Trainee

Location/s Multiple locations, Belfast, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Bristol, Oxford, Reading, Cambridge, Gatwick, Ipswich, Liverpool, London, Manchester, Milton Keynes, Norwich, Sheffield, Southampton, Leeds, Leicester, Birmingham

In addition to our August 2014 roles, we currently have immediate start vacancies in our Birmingham, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Norwich and Southamptonoffices. We also have January 2014 start roles in our Glasgow office.
Our school leaver trainees tell us that there's never a dull day when working in audit. The variety and challenge is what keeps it exciting and being part of something that's fundamentally right at the heart of business gets them out of bed each morning. As a trainee, you 'll be working with and advising dynamic organisations of all different sizes and sectors, delivering effective and innovative solutions. You'll be central to their growth journey; as a trusted adviser you'll be helping them achieve their ambitions and taking them from where they are to where they want to be. Alongside this, you will be studying for your professional qualification.
What you'll be doing
Within the audit team, you will be expected to assist with the practical aspects of the accountancy and audit process, establish and maintain excellent working relationships with clients and get involved to meet the demands of the business.
You will be expected to:
- complete audit tests in all sections, including fixed assets, stock, sales, debtors, intragroup balances, statutory salaries and wages.
- discuss relevant audit issues with clients.
- complete account preparation assignments.
- establish good relationships with colleagues
- efficiently use appropriate software packages (Explorer, auditCARE, SAPA)
Education and Qualifications
Strong academics essential. As well as academic success we're looking for interesting candidates who can show that they've done some great things within their personal and professional lives too. We're looking for well-rounded candidates who connect with our brand, values and culture and want to make a difference right from the start.
Other interesting information
As an Accelerate trainee as part of the audit team, you will be studying for your AAT qualification. It's really important that you can balance study, revision and client work. It's going to be a challenging few years but being professionally qualified opens up many doors and accelerates your career as a business adviser.
