FINANCE GRADUATE PROGRAM
LONDON, UK
Explore a career with Thomson Reuters while gaining valuable work experience and building lasting connections with colleagues in financial roles across the organization.
We’re looking to recruit and develop a diverse group of high-caliber graduates who are able to make an impact in a fast-changing business world. This three-year program aims to have its participants gain a breadth of commercial knowledge across all of the businesses we operate in. Graduates will be sponsored to achieve their CIMA qualification, and will obtain experience in different financial disciplines, including financial accounting, management accounting, business support and strategy, while also being exposed to both cost and revenue.
Upon leaving the program, graduates will have developed the skills and experience necessary to pursue a variety of different roles within Finance. Following completion of the program, graduates will be supported in identifying appropriate roles to ensure talent is well placed which could include global opportunities.
PROGRAM OUTLINE
Induction - On joining, all graduates come together for an intensive training workshop designed to provide an overview of the company, a good understanding of our customers and products, and specific training on finance specific systems and policies.
Year One - Graduates would typically be placed in an area such as Revenue Assurance, Accounting Operations, Group Accounting or Systems to build basic finance skills in the workplace, alongside the first year of study for the CIMA qualification. The development of strong analytical, interpersonal, and presentation skills will also be critical over Year One. In some circumstances, Year One might consist of two six-month placements if that were more appropriate for the specific roles.
Year Two - The second year of the program would typically give the graduate opportunity to work in a given field dependent on their individual talents and interests. Example roles would be within a central cost function or a business segment, or a more senior position in some of the Year One opportunity areas.
Year Three - The third year would be designed to further extend the experience of the graduate across the company. As this is a TR wide scheme, ideally placements by this stage would have covered two - three areas (F&R, Accounting Ops, Legal, IP&S, T&A, Corporate)
Professional Qualification - Graduates will be sponsored to study for the CIMA qualification. Roles therefore will be managed to ensure experience is drawn from the three competency areas set by CIMA in the appropriate balance during the three-year program.
Graduates will receive regular feedback during the program and are expected to consistently meet performance and behavioral objectives set by both the management team and individual assignment managers.

Bachelors’ degree of minimum 2.1, preferably in a finance/business-related field.
Consistent achievement of high academic results.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
High degree of customer focus.
Strong analytical reasoning.
